The Technical and Leisure Administration is a joint administration for the municipalities of Säffle and Åmål. Description

To meet future demands, the municipalities of Säffle and Åmål have a joint Technical and Leisure Administration responsible for water and sewage, waste and cleaning, streets, parks, leisure, local maintenance, GIS, and environment, which play key roles in ensuring that a range of societal functions operate and develop.

The mission of the park and leisure operations is to promote public health and attractive recreation areas. The operations are led by the Leisure Director, where two operations managers are responsible for workforce leadership within the park/leisure unit and the swimming pool unit, respectively.

Job Responsibilities

As a park worker, you are our face to the public and ensure that our municipalities are attractive and pleasant places to live and visit year-round.

You will work with varied tasks within the municipalities' public spaces. This includes, among other things, maintenance and care of green areas, playgrounds, trees, and equipment. This also includes public decoration and cleaning. Common tasks include machine operation, planting, watering, pruning, clearing, weed control, emptying trash cans and latrines, maintenance work, etc. Handling fault reports in our operational systems is also included.

The role may involve on-call duties in the form of snow clearing and/or ice treatment.

Your work area covers both Säffle and Åmål. This means you are expected to work in both municipalities based on the unit's needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in park/green maintenance
• Experience with machinery
• Familiarity with digital tools such as computers and mobile phones

It is an advantage if you have upper secondary education in green space maintenance, land, and infrastructure or equivalent.

It is an advantage if you have a Category C driver's license.

As a person, you take great responsibility and have the drive and commitment to develop operations with good planning skills. You are interested in working with societal development and are good at collaborating and creating and maintaining good relationships. The position requires you to be flexible and able to work within all areas of the unit as needed. You are solution-oriented and good at working both independently and in a team. You are computer literate.

Conditions

On-call duties may be included in the position.

A Category B driver's license is required.
